Justin Dillon

Founder & CEO

Made in a Free World

A professional musician turned filmmaker, nonprofit founder tackling modern-day slavery, and CEO helping change the paradigm for responsible trade in the global economy, Justin Dillon is a solutionist who has proved that everyday people with a dream and the resolve to see it through can be remarkable change agents in the world.

While touring as a musician, Justin’s chilling collision with the existence of modern-day slavery sparked a new life mission to be a practitioner of change. He created films with global reach that exposed the presence of slavery in nearly every aspect of world commerce. He went on to become founder and CEO of Made in a Free World, and to build award-winning platforms that have been widely recognized as disrupters to the $150 billion business of human trafficking.

Justin’s leadership over the last decade has awakened a global movement of millions, improved anti-trafficking laws, equipped major corporations and the federal government to clean their supply chains, and brought freedom to thousands of slaves. He has served as an adviser on issues of social justice and innovation to the United Nations, the U.S. State Department, the White House, the Vatican, Fortune 500 companies, and more.

Justin’s personal journey has inspired what he calls a “crusade to deputize everyday people to rise up from the periphery and become agents of change.” In his book, “A Selfish Plan to Change the World,” Justin takes readers on a journey of self-discovery—from sweatshops in India to punk rock concerts in Dublin—while providing a “self help others” guide to finding their own path toward meaning.

Justin has been featured by CNN, Forbes, USA Today, Fast Company, MSNBC, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, the Huffington Post, NPR, Cosmopolitan Glamour, Marie Claire, Ad Week, Vogue, CBS, Fox, Rolling Stone, BBC, Wired, Entertainment Tonight, Katie Couric, Dr. Phil, and more. His work has received high-profile accolades, including a Cannes Lion Award, a SXSW Innovation Award, and more.

What Others Are Saying

This is one of the few events where all members of the social good sector are in attendance. With business, nonprofit and public sectors attending, we can dig deeper and have cross-sector conversations.

The conference proved to be one of the most engaging and exciting professional gatherings of like-minded people I've ever attended. Although the topics, content, and presentations all appropriately centered around volunteering and service in some way, the sheer range of them was simply astounding.
