Call For Presenters

Each year, workshops at the Points of Light Conference highlight best practices, insights and ideas that shape the work being done to inspire and accelerate people-powered change in communities around the world. This is your chance to be part of this exclusive learning environment.

Be a Part of Accelerating People-Powered Change

Become a 2019 presenter! Proposals are due by 11:59 p.m. ET on Friday, Jan. 4, 2019.

Now more than ever, people are looking within themselves to find the inspiration, creativity and sustained energy to make change. The key to unlocking this power and light within us is to ensure that people feel able and equipped to act on their unique desire to stand up and say, “I can help.”

The 2019 Points of Light Conference, co-hosted with HandsOn Twin Cities, will challenge attendees to not only ask “how do we get more people to volunteer to make change,” but also “how can we create a society where it is easy for every individual to take action to accelerate change within their community and around the world?”

This year, the Minnesota Association for Volunteer Administration will serve as a content partner, leveraging content that would normally be presented at the MAVA Volunteer Engagement Leadership Conference to design and deliver volunteer engagement sessions at the Points of Light Conference.

To meet the central challenge of the conference, we are seeking proposals from organizations and subject-matter experts in these specific content areas: Business with Purpose, Civic Engagement Innovations from Around the World, Disaster Response and Preparedness, Engaging Youth and Families in Volunteering, Faith, Higher Education, Military and Veterans, National Service, Nonprofit Capacity Building, Nonprofit Volunteer Engagement Leadership, Service Enterprise, and Social Innovation.

What Others Are Saying

This is one of the few events where all members of the social good sector are in attendance. With business, nonprofit and public sectors attending, we can dig deeper and have cross-sector conversations.

— 2018 Atlanta Attendee

The conference proved to be one of the most engaging and exciting professional gatherings of like-minded people I've ever attended. Although the topics, content, and presentations all appropriately centered around volunteering and service in some way, the sheer range of them was simply astounding.
