Q. What is the National Conference on Volunteering and Service?
A. The National Conference on Volunteering and Service is the premier training and networking event for individuals and organizations engaged in meeting community needs through volunteer management, community volunteering, community mobilization and collaboration, service-learning and national service.
The National Conference's mission is to provide individuals involved in community volunteering and national service with knowledge, skills and resources that allow them to generate collaborative solutions to community problems.
Q. When and where is the National Conference on Volunteering and Service?
A. The National Conference will be held Sunday, June 1 through Tuesday, June 3 at the Marriot Atlanta Marquis, Hilton-Atlanta Downtown, and Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC). The conference headquarters, Marriot Atlanta Marquis is located at 265 Peachtree Center Avenue, Atlanta, Georgia 30303.
Q. What are the pre-conference training days?
A. Pre-conference trainings will be held Friday, May 30th and Saturday, May 31st.
Q. How will I know if I am eligible to attend?
A. If you are seeking ways to better connect people through volunteering and national service in order to strengthen your community; if you recruit, manage, or train volunteers; if you want to target volunteer where they are most needed; or if you seek to learn and apply effective practices in a constantly changing field, you are eligible to attend.
If you register for an event for which you are ineligible to attend, a National Conference Staff member will contact you.
Q. What is the registration cancellation/refund policy?
A. All requests for cancellations, changes and substitutions must be made in writing prior to April 30, 2008. Cancellations received on or before April 30th, 2008 to support@volunteeringandservicereg08.org will be refunded less a $50 processing fee. After April 30th, 2008 no refunds will be made for any cancellations (conference registration or special functions) or no shows. Substitutions may be made without penalty.

Q. Where do I pick up my registration credentials?
A. Registration will be located at the conference headquarters hotel, Marriot Atlanta Marquis. Registration hours will be announced.
Q. Is the conference affordable?
A. In an effort to make the National Conference more accessible to nonprofit leaders and anyone interested in volunteering and service, the 2008 registration rates are significantly lower than in years past. Member organizations can register for as low as $300 if they do so by the "Early Bird" deadline of April 30th, and even lower rates are available for students and attendees' spouses.
