Service Projects
Conference participants will serve the host city, alleviating needs in New York and engaging deeper into the fabric of volunteerism. Together, the thousands of conference participants will make a huge impact in the metropolitan area.
The conference conveners invite you to participate in the following service projects in the week leading up to the conference:
Pleasant Community Garden
June 22, Harlem
Volunteers will build new planter boxes, repair beds, remove diseased apple trees, beautify and enhance the existing garden.

Volunteers will work with residents in this housing development to restore their vegetable and flower gardens and also create a butterfly garden.

Elizabeth Langley Memorial Garden

Volunteers will beautify this community garden by planting herbs and flowers, repairing beds, and building raised planter boxes.

Eden Village Camp Greenhouse

Volunteers will build a greenhouse at Eden Village Camp, a new environmentally-focused summer camp, that will be used year round by the Jewish Farm School. There are 12 spaces available to participate in this project. To register, please email: talya@werepair.org
NYC Cool Roofs
June 21 and June 23, Queens and Brooklyn

In alignment with Mayor Bloomberg's PlaNYC initiative, volunteers will install "cool roofs" to reflect heat and reduce cooling costs. This project is full.
Buffalo Greenhouse

Supported by Home Depot
Volunteers will help provide access to wholesome, affordable food by working on this greenhouse in a Buffalo neighborhood Visit wnyamericorps.org to register.
Euclid 500

Volunteers will revitalize 152 M by planting flowers, weeding, building several raised wooden planter beds and performing other gardening tasks in the garden beds surrounding the school. Sign up
