Summit on Advanced Volunteer Engagement Preconference

(SID 2897)

During the Summit on Advanced Volunteer Engagement(SAVE) — Leading at the Crossroads 2012, participants will immerse themselves in an exploration of advanced topics in volunteer engagement through challenging discussions on issues, strategies, trends and research. SAVE leverages the expertise of proven, successful practitioners, national leaders and experienced consultants to provide a platform for facilitated peer-to-peer learning.

Offered as an inclusive preconference experience in conjunction with the National Conference on Volunteering and Service, SAVE provides an environment dedicated to the needs of the experienced volunteer and community engagement professional.

SAVE is specifically designed for individuals who have at least three years of experience in engaging volunteers in nonprofit, government and community organizations. The program is a combination of deliberate dialogues facilitated by subject matter experts and the sharing of best practices, proven models and innovations. The event will include networking opportunities, a challenging opening session that frames critical issues in the sector, thoughtful plenary presentations and engaging workshops. SAVE will motivate and equip the experienced practitioner to:

  • Apply innovative volunteer engagement practices
  • Position programs strategically within their organizations and communities
  • Connect with small groups of peers to think through issues and discuss ways to accomplish key personal, professional goals
  • Opportunities to network during affinity group sessions
