generationOn Youth Summit Preconference

The generationOn Youth Summit will gather 250 young people for an afternoon of civic dialogue and service-learning including a panel discussion with notable youth leaders, leadership skill building activities and a service project to benefit the local Chicago community!
All attendees will be equipped with a toolkit to identify their assets, interests and community needs and develop a civic engagement action plan to address an issue area of their choice. Through community mapping exercises, students will find ways to use service as a solution for identified community challenges. Armed with this new expertise, students will return to their communities equipped to implement their service plans to better effect change in their communities.
Registration
This event is FREE, but registration is required and space is limited.
All sessions are limited to youth participants ages 13-18. All participants must be accompanied by a chaperone.

Youth Workshops
Monday, June 18 - Tuesday, June 19, 2012 1- 4 pm
For the first time at NCVS, a set of workshops is being designed exclusively for an audience of young people to inspire, equip and mobilize them to take their leadership in service to the next level. Over two days, youth ages 13-18 will participate in an interactive service-learning experience and attend seven sequentially structured skill-building workshops. Participants will also have the opportunity to participate in conference-wide plenary sessions on each day, and explore the conference exhibit hall space to network with adult participants.
Fee: $250* Includes all seven sessions. Sessions are sequential and must be attended as set. All participants must be accompanied by a chaperone. Registration required. Space is limited.
*Limited scholarships are available.
Please note that this event does not include lunch. There are several dining options within the conference center.
