PRO BONO AND SKILLS-BASED VOLUNTEERING TRACK
In February 2008, The President's Council on Service and Civic
Participation convened more than 150 top corporate, government and
nonprofit leaders to kick off The Pro Bono Challenge, a three-year
campaign to leverage $1 billion in skilled volunteering and pro bono
services from the corporate community. More than 18 Pro Bono Champions
have already collectively pledged more than $118 million in skilled
volunteer labor and professional services to help nonprofits address
critical social needs.
To continue building capacity to expand skills-based volunteering and
pro bono service, the Points of Light & Hands On Network and the
Corporation for National and Community Service will host a series of
sessions targeting corporate and nonprofit engagement at the 2008
National Conference on Volunteering and Service. Leading corporate and
nonprofit executives are invited to join this special track designed to
explore expectations, partnerships, and next steps in expanding the
skills-based volunteering and pro bono movement.
